COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT IN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: EXPLORING HOW THE INVOLVEMENT OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES, TEACHERS, AND PARENTS IN EDUCATIONAL PLANNING CAN CONTRIBUTE TO SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES

Abstract

This empirical study explores the role of community involvement and stakeholder

engagement in promoting inclusive education. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were

collected from local communities, teachers, and parents across selected schools in Kano

State, Nigeria. The study investigates how stakeholder participation in educational planning

influences sustainable and inclusive educational outcomes. Findings show that inclusive

outcomes improve significantly when stakeholders are actively engaged in educational

processes. The study recommends institutionalizing participatory planning structures and

increasing awareness among stakeholders to enhance inclusive education practices.
